埃尔热是比利时著名的儿童漫画家。1907年出生。小时候各方面学习成绩都不错,唯独绘画不佳,因为他总喜欢画小人,被老师认为无大出息。但倔强的埃尔热竟在19岁那年发表了处女作也是成名作《冒失鬼巡逻队长托托尔》。此外,在第二次世界大战前他还创作了《埃及国王的香烟》、《破耳》、《蓝莲花》等九部连环画作品。1946年创办《丁丁报》。1950年他的“丁丁”被拍成电影。他还在50多岁时花了10年时间周游世界,并于1973年到达中国。1983年去世,享年75岁。一生共出版漫画集25部,还留下一部未完成作品,为人类留下了一笔丰厚的精神遗产。
