彼得·马修森（Peter Matthiessen）,两度美国国家图书奖得主。 1927年出生于纽约,1950年毕业于耶鲁大学,开始写作生涯。现已是美国大名鼎鼎的旅行作家兼小说家,著有《影子乡村》（2008年美国国家图书奖）《云雾森林》《非洲沉默》等名作,多次获得各项文学大奖。
