畢業於牛津大學,是英國知名記者,曾與友人共同創辦《遊手好閒》雜誌（Idler Magazine）。原本是科學白癡,但因從小熱愛看雲,進而努力鑽研與雲有關的一切知識,並發起「賞雲迷協會」（The Cloud Appreciation Society,網址是www.cloudappreciationsociety.org）,有來自全球各地的一萬多名「雲友」加入這個跨國組織,一同分享對於雲的愛好。

台大大氣科學研究所碩士,曾任台大大氣系助教,並赴美國加州大學洛杉磯分校大氣科學研究所研習一年,合著有《台灣天氣變！變！變！：感受奇妙的五季》（遠流）。她亦致力於音樂詞曲創作,曾出版個人專輯《看月娘》,以及合輯《辦桌》、《鵝媽媽出嫁》、《台語創作藝術歌曲集》等,也曾製作主持廣播兒童節目「綠色兒童樂園」,並以台語童謠專輯《春天佇陀位》獲得2007年第18屆金曲獎「最佳作詞人獎」。
