大卫·布林,美国当代著名科幻作家,1950年10月6日出生,毕业于加利福尼亚大学圣迭戈分校,获空间物理博士学位。布林最著名的代表作是他的“提升系列”太空歌剧。该系列由《潜日者》、《星潮汹涌》、《提升之战》、《光明礁》、《无限的海岸》和《天空的距离》六部小说组成。其中,《新潮汹涌》获得了世界科幻大奖星云奖和雨果奖,《提升之战》获得了雨果奖。除创作科幻小说外,布林还为一百多家政府机构和企业充当顾问,并一直活跃在多种科普电视与广播节目中。2007年8月,布林作为嘉宾出席了中国（成都）国际科幻、奇幻大会,并发表了精彩演讲,其渊博的学识和幽默的性格给中国科幻迷留下了深刻印象。
