A.A.米尔恩（Alan Alexander Milne,1882—1956）生于伦敦,大学读的是数学,参加过第一次世界大战,当过英国老牌幽默杂志《笨拙》的副主编。在为小朋友写书以前,他已经是一位大作家,写了许多长短篇小说、剧本、诗歌。不过让他闻名世界的,还是他的儿童文学作品。

米尔恩的儿童文学作品,主要是四本书,两本是童话,主角都是小熊维尼：《小熊维尼》（1926）和《小熊维尼角的房子》（1928）,两本是儿童诗：《当我们很小的时候》（1924）和《现在我六岁了》（1927）。
